John Sackett, president and chief executive officer of Avista Adventist Hospital and long-time resident of Louisville, has accepted a position as president of a 331-bed hospital in Rockville, Maryland. Sackett will assume the position at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital, part of a system of Adventist hospitals, in April. During his 31 years in this community, he and his wife met and had two children—both of whom were born at Avista. Sue has worked alongside John as an advocate for Avista and has been a tireless volunteer in the community. Both of them are grateful for the wonderful friends and opportunities this community has provided to them. “Avista will always have a special place in our hearts,” says John.
